Kani weaving is is one of the oldest handicrafts of Kashmir. Only shawls and stoles handwoovwn in Kashmir can be sold as kani weave. Kani in Kashmiri language denotes a small wooden sticks which is used to create patterns on Pashmina shawls during weaving.
